Founded in 2015 by husband-and-wife duo Heather and Matt French, French & French Interiors is a nationally recognized interior design firm that specializes in high-end residential and boutique commercial interior design. Celebrated for their bold use of color, folk-inspired sensibility, and a touch of whimsy, The French & French style is rooted in the soulful artistry of Santa Fe and shaped by the refined East Coast influence of their Southern upbringing. While based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, French & French take on projects nationwide.
Their aesthetic is both expressive and grounded. Each space is a layered narrative—artful, intuitive, and deeply personal. Heather P. NOVAK FRENCH
Heather, the studio’s Creative Director and Principal, brings an artist’s instinct for color, scale, and storytelling. Known for her maximalist interiors with meaning, she approaches each project with curiosity, care, and a deep reverence for the people who will live in the space. Heather brings a discerning eye and intuitive sense for translating her clients’ visions into richly detailed, deeply personal interiors.
Matt FRENCH
Matt is a builder with the soul of an artist. As Principal and Director of Construction and Product Development, he bridges creative vision and technical execution, ensuring every project is not only beautiful but built to last. Matt brings a sculptor’s eye to the details that make a space sing, and often fabricates bespoke pieces for our projects. Works that blur the line between function and art and speak directly to the story of the home.
Together, Heather and Matt create luxurious yet livable interiors across the country, from Santa Fe vacation homes to boutique hotels and high-end residences in Palm Beach and Dallas. Their work is driven by deep listening, trust, and the belief that good design is always a collaboration.
