Sunset Adobe
Santa fe, New Mexico
About the Project
Set into the mountains just beyond downtown Santa Fe, Sunset Adobe is a Pueblo Revival style home built in the 1980s. Designed with a crescent-shaped footprint that follows the rocky terrain, the architecture features curved walls, irregular lines, and a warm, earthy presence that reflects the landscape.
Designed as a vacation home for a Texas-based family, our goal was to honor the architecture’s soulful simplicity while layering in richness, warmth, and personality. There are no true corners here—just spaces that flow, flex, and surprise. We leaned into that fluidity with a palette inspired by dusk and desert, patterns drawn from folk traditions, and materials that invite both comfort and curiosity.
From hand-painted wallpaper by Adam Calkin to graphic textiles and softened stone, each room is a celebration of contrast. Sunset Adobe is a home designed for gathering, for slowing down, and for feeling deeply rooted in place.
