The Hollyhock House
Santa Fe, New Mexico
About the Project
Santa fe, new mexico
Nestled in the high desert of Santa Fe, Hollyhock House is a celebration of pattern, color, and craftsmanship that bridges traditional adobe architecture with layered, joyful design. French & French Interiors approached the renovation with reverence for the home’s original details—hand-carved vigas, plaster walls, and kiva fireplaces—while infusing it with their signature warmth and vibrancy.
Throughout the home, classic Southwestern architecture meets unexpected European influence: leafy block prints and embroidered florals play against rough-hewn beams, while painted cabinets, ikat wallpapers, and bespoke textiles create rhythm and movement from room to room. Each space tells a story of collected beauty—from the deep blue media room and verdant kitchen to the sun-washed sitting rooms anchored by art, texture, and comfort.
Outdoors, shaded portals and intimate courtyards extend the home’s easy elegance into the landscape. Designed as both a family gathering place and a serene retreat, Hollyhock House embodies a timeless sense of place—rooted in Santa Fe’s history yet alive with color, craft, and character.
